A weekend of celebration

Last weekend was a great weekend. It was jam packed with activities for my boyfriend's 30th birthday. On Friday we went to the highest restaurant in The Hague called The Penthouse which is situated on the 42nd floor. The view from up there was great and we could see all the city. The food was also lovely although it felt like we paid for every floor we had below us.

On Saturday I had planned a surprise BBQ at the beach with family and friends. The day turned out great, a lot of people showed up and we just had a good time. So much that the 10 kilometer bike ride back home was not the most simple and straightforward task.

Sunday was my brother in law´s birthday and we spent another day at the beach. It felt like being on holiday with tropical weather. 

This morning waking up was so much harder than usual Monday mornings, not that they are ever easy!

Happy 30th my love

The day has come to join all of us other friends in their thirties. It's time to start a new decade and something tells me it's going to be a blast.

Surprise birthday party

Last weekend I was surprised with a birthday party. It seems that my boyfriend had planned this all along. It explains why he was always keeping the laptop to himself in the evenings.


On the evening I had my suspicions that something was going to happen, especially since while at dinner I saw a friend of mine strolling outside the bar we were in.  What was she doing in The Hague if they are both from Amsterdam? My boyfriend just said its coincidence but from then on I kept looking outside for familiar faces. I knew something was going to happen. And I was right!

After dinner my friends started appearing. It was nice to have a night out with them, chatting and drinking. It's definitely a good start for my next decade.

My 30th birthday

Today is my 30th birthday. I've been wary about this day for the last few months. Changing the first digit of your age doesn't happen that often in the end!

But this morning I knew I was going to have a good day (and year) when I had a surprise breakfast delivery!
