A few weeks in the new year

It's too late in the year already to talk about the new year. Many people are by now already breaking resolutions they set a few weeks ago. So I won't hover longer about it and wish that everyone has a lovely year.  My year up until now has been really full. I started the year under the rain watching fireworks, followed by a family party on new year's day at our place. And this was just the first day. Since then we spent a lovely weekend in Brussels, went to a concert and also had the first snow days of this winter.

The concert of the Dutch band Doe Maar was one that I would not have went to in the past since the band plays music in Dutch. However since I had heard my boyfriend singing their songs during the years I was curious to hear them live! I couldn't follow everything but the vibe of concerts in small places are always great.  And once I started to sing along to some of their songs I knew that I have been a long time in this country!

J Lo at Ahoy

A couple of weeks ago we went to J Lo's concert - I had booked the tickets for Michael's birthday months' ago. Up until a week before the event I hadn't received any tickets yet but I didn't worry - that was mentioned in the booking. However I received an email stating that the ticket company won't manage to send me the tickets and that they will refund the cost. It seems that this company I used to get the tickets was a fraud and now doesn't even sell tickets anymore. In the meantime I have reported this to the police but I don't I'll ever see the money for the tickets back.

I bought other tickets and none the less we had great fun at the concert, even though we could see J Lo as a tiny spot on the stage since we were quite far away! I loved her music throughout the years and I really liked the sound of her laugh. It makes you want to laugh with her.

Let's Get Loud was one the songs that reminded me of summer nights at Gianpula in which I used to dance the night away.

A Malteseful week

This week is turning out to be a Maltese full week. It started out with a reception at the Maltese embassy where I discovered that my friends and me are the oldies. Oldies not in age but in the length of our stay in the country. Ow well we weren't the youngest ones there either!

It was nice talking with other people with similar upbringing as mine who did a move to the same country as I did. All with different stories and circumstances that brought them here.

On this evening a decision was made to go to Coldplay concert that was going to take place in my city. The search for tickets started. A search that is always tougher when the tickets are sold out. We were lucky enough to buy tickets from other people who couldn't go and even more lucky that the tickets were  not fake or sold a couple of times over to other people!

Great sunset at the concert

La Vida performed life

Coldplay performed greatly and since I'm a fan I had lots of fun. Everybody was given an armband at the entrance that lighted up with the rhythm of the music. Mine however stayed off during all the concert, to light up only 2 days after the event!

And tonight, there's another fun night planned with the group of Maltesers (as well as other nationalities). We've planned a slumber party, but that will definitely deserves a post by itself!
